In our class we use Seesaw, Mathletics, Spelling Shed and Google Classroom to share work and tasks with pupils and parents.

A home-learning task relating to one of the six Areas of Learning (Literacy, Language and Communication; Mathematics & Numeracy; Science & Technology; Humanities; Creative arts and Health & Wellbeing) is sent out via Seesaw fortnightly. Children will have weekly spellings and reading books sent home to practise. Please support your child with this.

In Reception/Year 1 our PE day is every Monday. Please remember to come to school dressed in the school PE kit. 

We love to get outdoors and enjoy Welly Wednesday sessions every week! Please send in a pair of welly boots for your child and a warm, waterproof coat? 

We are a Read Write Inc. school. We are learning our letter sounds, practising to blend and become fluent readers. Listening to stories at home and recited songs and rhymes is so important at this stage in every child’s development. 

SPRING TERM

We have so much to look forward to this term - an exciting trip to St Fagans, St David’s Day and our school Eisteddfod , Chinese New Year celebrations, World Book Day and Easter! Our whole school topic is a “World of Entertainment” and our class have decided to focus on Toys as they bring us so much fun, joy, and entertain us for hours! We will be discussing our favourite toys (in Welsh too!), comparing old and new toys, using money in our toy shop role play area, finding out which materials different toys are made from, taking a look at toys from around the world, measuring toys using Lego bricks, creating graphs based on our favourite toys and writing our own stories about The Magical Toybox! Sounds like a busy term ….let’s make it a great one! 🧸🪁🪀
