Additional Learning Needs- A Parent's Guide

As a parent, you might be concerned about your child having Additional Learning Needs. If you want to find out more about how you and your child can get support, this is the video for you.

What is ALN?

ALN, or Additional Learning Needs, refers to children or young people who have learning, physical or sensory needs which make it more difficult for them to learn than most children of the same age.

ALN at Maesycwmmer Primary School

At Maesycwmmer Primary School, we are committed to supporting every child to reach their full potential. We recognise that every child is unique and may require tailored support at different times during their learning journey.

At Maesycwmmer Primary School, our staff are committed to helping every pupil thrive by building confidence and celebrating their achievements. Teachers take a holistic approach, valuing each child as an individual and recognising the importance of identifying additional learning needs as early as possible. We understand that pupils may need extra support or adjustments at various stages of their school life.

Our school's Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo) is Miss Holmes. If you have any concerns or queries please contact Miss Holmes via SeeSaw or via the school office.
