Summer Term
Our topic is Under the Sea as part of our whole school topic of WaterWorld! Children decided they want to explore the treasures of the ocean; mermaids, sharks and whales! We will be thinking about sea pollution and how we can help our planet! The children will learn to name a variety of sea creatures and discover exciting facts about Wally the Walrus who visited Tenby! We have exciting workshops to look forward to from Dwr Cymru who will teach us where our water comes from and where our waste goes! We also hope to have lots of growing and watering our own plants and cooling off with some splashes and sprays during our summer term!
Spring Term 2025
Our topic this term is 'Fairytales and Castles.' From Frozen to Beauty and the Beast we will explore characters, setting and plot. The children will have opportunities to build castles in the construction area and using natural materials outdoors. The children will also learn about real local castles such as Caerphilly and Cardiff Castle. As always in our class we continue to base our learning around the seasons and will explore Winter and Spring this term. We will take part in the annual big bird watch, study St Dwynwen and St Davids as part of our Welsh heritage and join in with Chinese New Year celebrations! It is certainly shaping up to be a busy term!
Autumn Term 2024
Our whole school topic is linked to the theme ' Sparkle and Shine'.
We will be exploring what makes us 'Shine' and learning about different celebrations in different cultures. We will be exploring the sparkling colours of autumn and learn about belonging in our local community of Maesycwmmer.
