Welcome to Reception / Year 1's class page where you will find important information and updates from the class.

Our class is made up of 25 wonderful pupils, 13 Receptions's and 12 Year 1's. Miss Holmes teaches the class with Mrs Morris, Mrs Jones and Miss Warry supporting as well.

Summer Term 2025

Welcome to the Summer Term!

This term, our class will be making a splash with the exciting topic of Waterworld! We will be exploring the importance of water in our world, from how it keeps us healthy to the dangers of pollution. Through science experiments, stories, and creative art, we will discover how water impacts people, animals, and our environment. We’ll also learn about water safety and the ways we can protect this precious resource. It’ll been a journey full of discovery, creativity, and plenty of hands-on fun!

Spring Term 2025

Croeso, Welcome to the Spring Term!

This term, our class is diving into the exciting topic of Towers, Tunnels, and Turrets! We’ll be exploring the fascinating world of castles, focusing on their history, features, and the people who lived and worked in them. From learning about Welsh castles like Raglan Castle to discovering the roles within a medieval castle, we’ll use stories, art, and hands-on activities to bring the past to life. Get ready for an adventure into the world of knights, kings, and queens!

Autumn Term 2024

Our topic for the Autumn term is 'Sparkle and Shine'.

We have 6 Areas of Learning and Experiences which we will cover throughout our topic. The children have brainstormed their ideas for our new topic and we are looking forward to the term ahead! Keep a look out on SeeSaw, Twitter and our class page for what we have been up to!

The children have access to a variety of different apps from home to support their learning. These include Spelling Shed, Mathletics, Times Table Rockstars and Oxford Owl. Please click the links below to access the websites. If you need your child's login details please contact Miss Holmes. 

We are encouraged to use our welsh language skills throughout the school day.
