Welcome to Mr Coupland's class.
In Year 4/5 this year we have 29 amazing children! We have 12 Year 4's and 17 Year 5's.
We all strive to be...
- ambitious, capable learners
- enterprising, creative contributors
- ethical, informed citizens
- healthy, confident individuals.
Every week we take part in lots of fun activities and lessons from all of the Areas of Learning and Experience.
Please see below the important days to remember!
|Monday||Daily Mile||We start our week off with the daily mile on a Monday morning.|
Mrs James is in Year 4/5 on a Wednesday morning. She teaches lessons about Religious Education and PHSE.
PE kit is required in school every Tuesday.
|Thursday||Outdoor Learning||Once a week we learn using the outdoors throughout different Areas of Learning and Experience. We use our schools wet weather equipment, but could all children bring in their own Wellies to use at school.|
Home Learning Tasks
It is also our second daily mile day of the week.
Our home learning tasks are also set every Friday. These tasks relate to our topic, but also encompass all of the Areas of Learning and Experience that form part of the new curriculum.
Class roles and responsibilities
This is the topic overview we have created, using the children's ideas to plan their topical learning for this term.
Summer Term 2022
'Protect the Planet: Rainforests of the World'
Alongside our Literacy, Numeracy and Science lessons the children will plan their own topic lessons and activities within the 6 Areas of Learning and Experience, which we will carry out over the Summer Term. The children will generate their own ideas throughout the term, these will then feed into many of their lessons across the curriculum.
This term we will be focusing on both tropical and temperate rainforests around the world. After gathering the children's ideas we will look at the different layers of the rainforest, researching the range of living things that live in each of the layers. We will also look at how green plants grow in our topical science, dissecting and understanding the different elements of plants.
The children have access to a variety of different apps from home to support their learning. These include Spelling Shed, Mathletics, Times Tables RockStars and Oxford Owl. Please click the links below to access the websites. If you need your child's login details please contact Mr Coupland.
