Spring Term 2026 - Bright Lights, Big City

This term we will be looking at and comparing the city of Toronto with Maesycwmmer.  We will begin with a focus on the key locations in Toronto, then comparing them with their equivalents in Wales, comparing similarities and differences.  We will explore Canadian food, hobbies, traditions and music.

In the second half of the term, we will be building up to the Class Assembly linking our Literacy theme of Flat Stanley, our topical theme of Toronto with references to the key locations featured in the Disney film Turning Red.  Which will help us consider how Toronto has changed since the turn of the Millennium.

Autumn Term 2025 - Inside Out - From Food to Feelings

This term we will be looking at our bodies inside and out.  We will begin with a focus on the digestive system, looking at how our body digests food, how it allows the body to process nutrients to help us survive. Please see the information below for details on our topic for this term.

In the second half of the term we will also be looking at the range of emotions inspired by the film Inside Out.  EWe will then explore what makes a good growth mindset, and work on developing positive mindsets, especially in areas, skills, sports and subjects we find tricky.
